E3 2015 – I Said, “Hey, What’s Going On?”

Captjc V6 SmallJune is almost upon us. As I sit in my air conditioned room typing on my new Macbook Pro, I realize the irony that now that I am at the age when I finally have the disposable income to buy games and consoles and other such expensive toys merely on a whim, I no longer have the kind of time to actually sit down and enjoy them. Oh hell, let’s just talk about games!

So many games that have been announced that I can’t wait for more information on. Probably at the top of my list is Star Wars Battlefront. Set to release at the end of the year to coincide with the release of the new Star Wars movie, It has some big shoes to fill. The original Battlefront was an amazing game and the sequel made it even better. With EA’s inevitable DLC crap as well as the Origin requirement on the PC side, this will probably be the title to finally push me to get a Playstation 4 (Though at this point there are already enough games to warrant the purchase). With any luck we should also get announcements on what else EA is planning to do with the Star Wars license outside of jack-shit.

Speaking of the PS4, Uncharted 4 should be getting more information outside of the title, “A Thief’s End.” This could be be a year of fours as we should be getting updates on Deus Ex 4 (Mankind Divided) and Mass Effect 4 as well.

From EA we should be hearing about the Mirror’s Edge prequel. From Ubisoft, I am assuming an announcement of Watch Dogs 2 and if the planets can align during the correct moon phase, maybe Beyond Good and Evil 2 can finally stopped being teased after all these years and finally be confirmed. Codemasters recently teased a new sequel to the badass Overlord series. Firaxis is doing a sequel to XCOM which was yet another amazing turn-based strategy game from the masters of amazing turn-based strategy games. With the release of The Witcher 3, maybe CD Projekt RED will show off their Cyberpunk 2077 RPG.

Lastly we have Nintendo. It has been said that Zelda, the NX console, or their smartphone games will not be shown. However, we should see the new Starfox for Wii U and hopefully more information on the Miyamoto projects that were teased last year, namely Projects Guard and Giant Robot. Mario Maker is looking like the closest we will get to a proper Mario Paint sequel since Warioware D.I.Y. Maybe we can even see announcements of a new Metroid and / or an F-Zero games or even something new.

Here is to another great year in gaming!
